Ok, we've all re-posted from other blogs, we've all probably gotten images from another person's site and I would hope that all mature bloggers out there are smart enough to give references to credit the sites where they originated. Most of us do anyway.. with the exception of times that I've been in too much of a hurry, I try to always do so and if I do forget I go back and fix it when it comes to my attention. Anyway.. nuff said about that..
Vinylbyrequest* is not one of these mature bloggers. Apparently their originality if they ever had any was left at the door when they stepped into the blogosphere. Now why would I say such a blatantly rude statement about a fellow blogger? Umm, check there site out as of today and you'll see why. I was given a heads up by another fellow blogster, Geoff, who has run into problems with the same site and though it was his duty to let me know about my content showing up elsewhere. Geoff's site is called CousinsVinyl. Anyway Thanks Geoff.
You may ask what's the big deal!? We all re-post material! Its the nature of the Blogosphere! True. But the fact is that material, like when you write a paper, IMO should be cited and/or quoted in the blog itself, if its not your writing. Agree? Not only does vinylbyrequest re-post the material without citing the source directly, they do not re-write the information in their own interpretation. The other problem for me, is the sheer number of posts that they have copied. Not just one, but all of the past few posts I've put up showed up there.
Any suggestions on what to do about this? This is my first step, letting people know what vinylbyrequest is doing.
Thanks for listening!
