In my wanderings across the web looking for more reference material for the projects I'm working on, I came across a sketch that I just had to post here b/c I know Van is into these! I think its an old enough Datsun Z right? Anyway I like them too, but don't know enough about them to know what year or model it is by the looks of the front end. I came across this great new design for a vinyl toy a while ago and it instantly appealed to me. I am not sure what appealed to me but it was a mixture of the strong symbolic feel of the closed fist and the cleverly worked design. I got in contact with the designer, kaNo, and asked him to tell me a bit more about the toy, Moneygrip, and what inspired him to create it. This is what kaNo had to say.
I've got a new custom project that I'm about to get started with. its a little different than what I've seen lately.. but here's the starting point:
Its a Nissan Skyline Model that I've had sitting around collecting dust for awhile, and frankly I love the car, but never liked the typical racing-style stickers all over it so I'm about to change all of that. Don't know how many people in my neighborhood would care to know, but hey, this is MY Vox right. :-P LOL
I keep checking back to see when Tado would have a website, and I finally found out from Vinyl Abuse that its finally here! I love their stuff and so I was excited to find out that their site has been posted. Its a very nicely done flash-enabled site and I even found some stuff there that I'd never seen by Tado, go check it out! I was also looking for tutorials or books on how to make your own plush toy since I am considering making my boombus into plushies too. I ended up finding this site and quite a few others where you can get your stuff made into plushes. Binkley Custom Products looks pretty cool and their quality looks great, so I might be checking them out. You can get a free quote from them.
Ok, just thought I would post something about my most popular downloads on istock as of today. It's been picking up a lot lately and the only thing I believe holding back from the $ rolling in is the number of total images I have in my gallery. Though its a bit more now, 24 to be exact, I hope to continue posting more as time allows, but then again, this is only a side thing for me.
Graffiti boy has held the number one spot for downloads since he was posted with 5.9 average downloads per month. I'm glad because he's one of my favorites too.
The number two spot is another of my favorites,
Flamehead keeps an average of about 5.7 per month, right behind Graffiti boy. Both are very mischievous kids that represent graffiti-culture. Perhaps I should do more like them?

I'm not really too into Qees in general although there are some really cool ones out there. These qees, though, I've seriously been waiting for + they are DIY! woo hoo! Now, I've got to get some!

And another one, I haven't typically liked Biskup stuff, but you know what? If he puts out more stuff like this one, the Gama Go TigerLily, I may just change my mind!

I haven't read too much about the artist that does him but here's a quote from his blog:
